THE RUNDOWN
Friday night, DBU (11-6, 5-4 LSC) fell to UT Permian Basin (7-12, 5-4 LSC) at The Burg Center, in what was arguably the most impressive performance of the year from the Falcons. Amidst the loss,
Paityn Winters recorded her team-leading tenth double-double on the season, dishing 15 assists and recording 10 digs.
Lauren Witte joined her fellow freshman teammate in the double-double club tonight, posting 11 kills and 13 digs in the loss.

Late in the first set, DBU held a 23-17 lead before UTPB rattled off eight consecutive points to claim set one. The Falcons carried the momentum from their comeback through the rest of the night — never trailing in set two, and after taking a 10–9 lead in set three, they never looked back.

UT Permian Basin performed to the tune of a team-wide .238 hitting percentage, their second-highest of the season in games against teams with a winning record. The Falcons played a cleaner game all throughout the stat sheet, committing fewer errors than DBU in three major categories: attacks, serves, and receptions.
