THE RUNDOWN
DBU (12-13, 6-11 LSC) dropped its regular-season finale to UT Tyler (16-11, 12-5 LSC) in three sets Saturday afternoon, ending the Lady Patriots' 2025 campaign. UT Tyler has now won two straight over DBU.
UT Tyler was dominant in the first set, holding the Lady Patriots to just eight points and a negative hitting percentage (-0.074) in the opening frame.
The Lady Patriot attack found success in the second set as 89.4% of DBU's points in the middle frame were kills, but it wasn't enough, as DBU dropped the second frame 25-19. DBU was able to muster a .348 hitting percentage, but couldn't stop UT Tyler's offense, allowing them to hit .464.
Neither team in the third set could get their offenses going (DBU - .114, UTT - .133), but UT Tyler was able to edge out a set three victory, 25-21.
