Buchanan's Undefeated Performance Powers Lady Patriots in Successful Season Debut

THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Women's Tennis team had a strong showing this weekend, competing in a series of matches against Ouachita and Henderson State. The Lady Patriots demonstrated impressive skill and resilience, responding well to early challenges and securing key victories. With standout performances from Emily Buchanan, who went undefeated in both singles and doubles and Katia Robinson, who earned her first singles win as a Patriot, the team showed great promise as they opened their season with strong results.

On Day 1, Ouachita came out strong in doubles and took the point, catching the Patriots off guard. However, the DBU Women's Tennis team responded well in singles, with impressive straight-set victories on lines 3-6 to secure four wins and ultimately clinch the match. Emily Buchanan was the standout player of the day, going undefeated in both singles and doubles, showcasing her dominant performance across both disciplines.

On Day 2, the Patriots bounced back with a 5-2 win over Henderson State. Once again, Emily Buchanan remained undefeated in singles and doubles, continuing her strong start to the season. Additionally, Katia Robinson earned her first singles win as a Patriot at line 2, contributing to the team's overall success. The women displayed impressive skill and teamwork, overcoming early challenges to dominate their opponents and secure another solid victory.

DBU HEAD COACH WADE MORGAN ON THE SPRING SEASON OPENER

"It's always good to get a couple of wins on the road. We know we have to be more aggressive in certain situations in doubles, but this team shows massive potential. I'm excited to see what we can do this year."
