THE RUNDOWN
The No. 4-ranked DBU Women's Soccer team continued their perfect start to the 2025 season, earning their seventh straight victory with a 2-0 win over UT Tyler on Wednesday night at Citizens First Bank–Perkins Soccer Complex in Tyler, Texas.
Second-half strikes from
Ashley Washburn and
Isabella Medina provided the difference, as the Patriots moved to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in Lone Star Conference play.
DBU controlled the match from the opening whistle, holding UTT without a single shot attempt in the first 45 minutes. Meanwhile, DBU managed four first-half shots, including two on target, but both sides entered the break locked in a scoreless battle.
The breakthrough came in the 62nd minute when Washburn buried her second goal of the season off a perfectly placed ball from
Chandler Wheat. Just nine minutes later, Wheat once again provided the setup, this time feeding freshman forward Medina, who sealed the win with her first career goal.
The Patriots outshot UTT 12–6 on the night and secured their fourth consecutive shutout to remain unbeaten.

DBU HEAD COACH MARCUS WOOD ON A KEY CONFERENCE ROAD WIN
"This was a great game between two great teams. A Stephanie Webb team is a well-coached team. In the first half, we had a lot of the ball, but we did not create much. Our challenge to the players was to be technically clean in the second half. We feel the players answered the challenge. We got two great goals from
Ashley Washburn and
Isabella Medina, and two great assists from
Chandler Wheat. The back row of
Parker Coe,
Kenzi Tufts,
Lauren Walker,
Kylar Coffman,
Mikaela Gracia, and
Leslie Miller battled and earned a clean sheet."
