THE RUNDOWN
The No. 4-ranked DBU Women's Soccer team delivered a historic performance on Senior Day, setting a new school record with 12 goals in a commanding 12-0 victory over Eastern New Mexico at Patriot Soccer Field on Saturday. The win ties the 2020 squad for the best start in program history at 8-0 and moves DBU to 4-0 in Lone Star Conference play.

The celebration began early as the seniors being honored before the match wasted no time leaving their mark. Just 71 seconds in,
Anne Louthan put the Patriots on the board, followed by
Parker Coe's strike in the 11th minute.
Angelina Olmos extended the lead in the 19th minute, and just four minutes later,
Elise Borders blasted home an unassisted goal to make it four straight goals from the team's senior class.
The first half onslaught continued as
Emma Croley netted a goal and freshman sensation
Chandler Wheat delivered back-to-back goals, giving DBU a staggering 7-0 lead at the break.
The Patriots showed no signs of slowing down in the second half.
McKenna Vela and
Kenzi Tufts each netted two goals, and in the 68th minute,
Lauren Mueller unleashed a thunderous shot from nearly 30 yards out to score her first career goal, and set the program record for most goals in a game.

    • DBU outshot Eastern New Mexico by a decisive 38-3 margin.
    • The Patriots improved to 8-0 all-time against the Greyhounds.
    • DBU recorded their sixth shutout of the year and have now gone 523 straight minutes without allowing a goal.
