The Dallas Baptist Lady Patriot Volleyball Team fell to 13-15 for the season on Saturday afternoon as they were defeated by the University of Texas - Permian Basin, 3-1. With the loss, the Lady Patriots drop to 6-3 in Heartland Conference play.
With aggressive play that resulted in 54 total kills, the Lady Patriots were able to keep the Lady Falcons on their heels for most of the match, but were unable to complete the win.
The Lady Patriots came out on fire in the opening set, only to lose a nail biter, 27-25. In set two, DBU gained momentum as they won in impressive fashion 25-18.
DBU challenged the Lady Falcons down to the wire in sets three and four, but were unable to pull out a win. They dropped both sets 25-22.
Freshman
Krystal Wunderlich led the Patriots in kills with 12, which was only one off the game high of 13. Wunderlich had 29 total attacks as she hit for a .310 average.
Both Sophomore
Becky Swann and Junior
Kaylyn Frink were close behind with 11 kills of their own. Swann hit for a game high .391 average in 23 total attacks while Frink added 13 defensive digs in the loss.
The Lady Patriots will be back in action on Tuesday, October 26, as they face Texas Woman's University. Game time will be at 7:00 p.m. in the Burg Center.
