Lady Patriots Crush Midwestern State, 3-1

The Dallas Baptist Lady Patriot Volleyball Team traveled to Wichita Falls on Tuesday evening, seeking redemption for a loss to Midwestern State earlier in the season. They found just that as they defeated the Mustangs three sets to one, moving the Lady Patriots to 7-6 on the season.

The Lady Patriots jumped out to an early lead, taking the first set, 25-22. In the second, the Mustangs committed only three errors on their way to a .231 attack percentage, evening the game at one set apiece.

DBU dominated in the third with a .333 attack percentage, fueled by 12 kills and only one error, to take the set, 25-16.

The Lady Patriots put the Mustangs away with a 25-21 win in the fourth set, redeeming a loss to Midwestern State back on September 7. The win marks the third straight for the Lady Patriots, including a 2-0 start in Heartland Conference play.

Sophomore Christina Steinkruger and Freshman Krystal Wunderlich led the Lady Patriots offensively, with 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Sophomore Becky Swann and Junior Claire Stephens each picked up nine kills on the night. Junior Kaylyn Frink had an outstanding game with a team high 20 digs.

DBU will continue their three game road trip with a trip to Fort Smith, Arkansas, on Thursday. The Lady Patriots will face the University of Arkansas Fort Smith in a 6:00 p.m. matchup.
