After a narrow loss to #31 St. Edward's on March 3, the Dallas Baptist Lady Patriot Tennis Team defeated the 20th-ranked Bronchos from Central Oklahoma on March 4. The Lady Patriots defeated UCO, 5-4, capturing two singles wins and three doubles wins.
The Lady Patriots fell short by one set against the Hilltoppers from St. Edward's, 4-5. Junior
Hannah Innes and Freshman
Natalie Gennissen picked up the lone doubles win for DBU, winning their game 8-2. For singles, it was Senior
Lisa Olian (6-4, 6-1), Freshman
Leah Rutt (6-3, 6-4), and Junior
Laura Atkins (6-1, 6-4) who all picked up wins over their respective opponents.
Against Central Oklahoma, the Lady Patriots picked up two doubles wins. Innes and Gennissen picked up another victory, defeating their counterparts, 8-3. The duo of Atkins and Rutt won the second doubles set for the Lady Patriots, taking an 8-4 victory.
Gennissen (7-5, 3-6, 6-2), Rutt (6-4, 6-7, 7-5, 6-4) and Innes (7-5, 6-4) all picked up singles victories as DBU defeated UCO, who is currently ranked the 20th best team in the nation, 5-4.
The Lady Patriots will return to the courts on March 8, as they host Tarleton State University.
