Box Score
The Dallas Baptist Patriot Baseball Team snapped their four game winning streak with a 3-1 loss to the fourth-ranked Longhorns from the University of Texas Tuesday evening at Disch Falk Stadium. The Horns improve their record to 25-8 on the season while the Patriots drop to 21-12.
Senior
Jared Stafford was dealt the loss for DBU after pitching five innings and allowing three runs on six hits.
Senior
Jason Krizan, who currently leads the nation in doubles, set a new school record after picking up the 70th double of his career in the top of the first inning. His RBI double down the left field line scored the only Patriot run of the night, and also broke the previous career mark of 69, held by former DBU player Cody Montgomery.
Krizan also tied the DBU single season mark with his 22nd of the season and stands a good chance of breaking that record considering there are still 23 games left on the Patriots' schedule. The junior from Pflugerville, Texas, is averaging .67 doubles per game.
Krizan's double was one of the only bright spots on the evening for the Patriots as they only managed four hits throughout the game. Junior
Kenny Hatcher led all DBU hitters, going two-for-four at the plate.
The Longhorns used ten hits on the evening to put up one run in the first, fourth, and fifth innings for the 3-1 win.
DBU will host Northwood University at Patriot Field on Thursday, April 14. The first pitch is slated for 3:00 p.m.
