The Dallas Baptist Patriot Team defeated Northwood University, 17-2, Thursday afternoon at Patriot Field. The Patriots improve their overall record to 22-12 with the win while the Knights drop to 33-11 on the season.
DBU recorded 15 hits in the game, compared to only four hits put on the board by the Knights. Sophomore
Jake Johansen picked up his third win of the season after pitching four innings, allowing only one run on two hits, and striking out three.

Jason Krizan led DBU at the plate, each picking up three hits in five plate appearances while Juniors
Ryan Behmanesh and
Kenny Hatcher drove in four runs apiece.
The Patriots scored five runs in each of the first two innings to take an early 10-0 lead. After a two-RBI single by Hatcher, Sophomore
Duncan McAlpine blasted his fourth homerun of the season in the first to clear the bases and give DBU their 5-0 lead.
The Patriots picked up three doubles and a triple in the second to score their next five runs. Senior
Jason Krizan, who leads the nation in doubles this season, broke the single-season school record with his 23rd double of the year.
The first Northwood run came in the top of the third, but DBU responded with another four runs in the bottom half of the inning. Senior
Josh Wilson and Anderson, who led off the second with consecutive doubles, made it back-to-back innings with another pair in the third. Each player picked up one RBI with their second extra base hit of the day, while Krizan and Hatcher drove in the last two runs of the inning with RBI singles to make it a 14-1 lead for the Patriots.
A one-run fifth for the Knights brought the score to 14-2, but DBU tacked on three more runs in the sixth to close out the 17-2 win. Behmanesh did most of the damage for the Patriots in the inning with his second triple of the game, scoring three more runs and bringing his RBI season total to 32.
The Patriots will have four days off before traveling to Norman, Oklahoma on April 19 to face the Oklahoma Sooners. Game time on Tuesday is set for 6:30.
