Volleyball Makes Quick Work of Panhandle State

The Dallas Baptist Lady Patriot Volleyball Team opened conference play Thursday night in Goodwell, Oklahoma and made quick work of Oklahoma Panhandle State. With the win, the Lady Patriots improve to 6-2 on the year while the Lady Aggies fall to 3-7.

The Lady Patriots quickly established the pace for the night and picked up a victory in Game 1 by the score of 25-16. That dominance continued throughout the contest as they won Game 2, 25-20, and Game 3, 25-15.

The big story of the night for DBU was the offensive play of Krystal Wunderlich and Christina Steinkruger. Wunderlich finished the night with 11 kills while Steinkruger chipped in 12 of her own. Tyler Bradsher helped the cause by contributing 31 assists. Head Coach Cathy Ray Kokel was very pleased with the offensive showing and said, "I thought those three were outstanding for us. To come out in our first conference game and play like we did is great. We defended well and the numbers obviously show what we did offensively. This match will hopefully set the tone for the next couple weeks."

The Lady Patriots next play in Odessa on Saturday as they take on Permian Basin in their next Heartland Conference matchup.
