Dallas Baptist Volleyball fell to 6-4 on the season after dropping a five game match to the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma on Tuesday night.
DBU opened the match with a 25-19 win in Game 1 only to see Southeastern come back to claim Game 2, 25-17. DBU seized momentum in Game 3 with a 25-19 victory but the Savage Storm saved the match in a back-and-forth Game 4, 26-24, and won outright with a 15-11 score in Game 5.
There were a lot of bright spots for the Lady Patriots in the match as
Christina Steinkruger recorded 16 kills,
Claire Stephens picked up 12 as did
Kristin Secord.
Erika Papadeas and
Cameron Hartson led the defense - as they have all season - with 16 and 12 digs respectively.
"The match overall did not turn out like we wanted it to but I thought we played well," said Head Coach Cathy Ray Kokel. "In Game 4 we are right there to win the match, we just did not get it done. We will take the positives from this and get ready for Thursday night back at home."
The Lady Patriots do return to Heartland Conference action Thursday night against Arkansas-Fort Smith at 7:00 pm in The Burg Center.
