THE LEAD
The Dallas Baptist Men's Soccer Team plays its second match in three days, welcoming No. 18 Midwestern State University on Monday, October 6. Kickoff is slated for 7 PM.

Tomorrow marks consecutive matchups the Patriots are meeting a NSCAA top 25 ranked opponent on the pitch. Saturday the team dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 23 St. Edward's University.

On the campaign, DBU has gone 0-2 thus far versus top 25 foes, falling 4-1 at No.15 Metro State University.

After going 3-6 last season in one-goal games and 0-2 in overtime affairs; DBU has reflected a 3-1 showing in games decided by a goal. Its latest two wins have occurred in extra regulation, improving the team to 2-0 in such decisions.

LAST TIME OUT
Dallas Baptist hosted St. Edward's in both team's Heartland Conference opener, but was unable to slow down Andrew Fox from the visiting squad.

Fox, who was named Heartland Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, produced a hat trick through the early going of the beginning half. It was enough to top DBU 3-0, and moves its four-game home stand record to 1-1.

DBU did manage to settle into a competitive second half, matching the top 25 ranked opponent seven shots each in the final frame. However, the margin was too much to overcome.

Senior David Balyeat boasted a team-high six shots, placing two on goal, counting for the team's only pair of attempts to reach the target. Junior Brian Robertson also claimed a multi-shot outing firing two total.

Also collecting shots in the setback included: redshirt sophomore Landon Lacy, and juniors Cameron Hatch and Jay Adam Williams.

DBU was outshot by the Hilltoppers 17-11 in the affair.

IMPACT PLAYERS
Leading the way for the Patriots on offense are Lacy and Alvey with three goals and seven points apiece. Lacy is one goal away from matching his season-best in 2012.

Alvey has matched his rookie campaign total in goals, and remains a point away from tying the amount the forward accumulated in 2013.

Robertson is ahead on the team with 24 shot attempts, and ranks third on the squad with six points. His game-winner against McMurry a week ago was his second of the midfielder's career. Both happened with the Warhawks as the opponent at Patriot Soccer Field.

Stringer has earned six starts in the goalkeeper position for the Patriots. He tied his career win total in 2013 against McMurry on September 27. The goalkeeper has combined for 25 saves and faced 94 shots through 553:28 minutes on the year.

The Burleson, Texas, native is 44:42 minutes away from tying his rookie campaign for time in the campaign. His three goals allowed the other night tie a season-high only happening one other time at Southern Nazarene University in a Patriot 4-3 victory.

HOME SWEET HOME
The Patriots were away most of the month of September, after producing a 1-1 record in the opening week of the calendar. DBU is in the midst of a four-game home stretch, and currently is 1-0 with three games approaching in the next seven days.

Three of the four contests are versus non-conference foes.

Last year, DBU posted a 4-3 record at Patriot Soccer Field, partly due to a 3-3 home stand on a six-game span that lasted through the later part of the campaign. A pair of those setbacks were determined by a goal.

After this home stand, the Patriots will be gone for their second five-game road trip, before concluding the regular season slate with two conference matchups.

SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS
No. 18 Midwestern State won six-straight prior to a 1-1 tie versus St. Edward's University. In its latest match, the nationally ranked squad defeated University of Texas-Permian Basin, 4-0. MSU has opposed five Heartland teams thus far, and gone unblemished in each contest.

The team also is 3-1 on the road this season.

This Midwestern State group has outscored the opposition 24-8, with Andrew Power guiding the offense by powering nine goals. He also boasts a team-best, 19 points. Behind him is Len Smith tacking on four goals and nine points.

Also delivering multi-goal years for the Mustangs are Thomas Parides with three and Albert Rodriguez and Call Casarez displaying a pair of netters a piece. Paul Sunderland is tied for third on the squad with six points, all coming from a team-leading six assists.

Nick Petolick has gone 7-1-1 and posted five shutouts through nine games and 847:37 minutes in the goalkeeper position for MSU. He has picked up 26 saves thus far.

SERIES HISTORY
Monday marks the first time both programs will meet on the pitch since DBU became a member of Division II in 2012.

UP NEXT
Dallas Baptist concludes its season-long, four-game home stretch on October 11 versus Eastern New Mexico University. The non-conference match is slated for 1 PM kickoff.
