The Dallas Baptist Women's Tennis Team shutout Ottawa University on Tuesday night to soar above .500 for the first time this season. DBU is now 6-5 after topping the Braves 9-0 for its third consecutive victory.

Winning all the doubles matches, sophomore,
Amanda Richter, and freshman,
Cassandra Wennerstrom, defeated Jennifer Luedtke and Danika Good 8-2 in the top slot to lead the way. In the number 2 seed, senior duo,
Leah Rutt and
Leah Smith were able to prevail 8-0, before freshman,
Meredith Robinson, and junior,
Lyvia Gomes, won 8-2.

The Patriots were just as sharp in all six singles match-ups, with Rutt topping Luedtke in a pair of 6-2 final sets. Wennerstrom slotted in the #2 spot, and posted 6-0 wins over Madeline Bellow from OU. Richter also shutout Kimisha Peterson in a pair of 6-0 finishes to wrap-up the #3 slot.

With the Patriots ahead, the final three slots were decided in single sets, with the visiting squad triumphing in the whole trio of matches. Smith, Gomes, and Robinson all totaled victories with 8-0, 8-5, and 8-5, scores, respectively.
