Women's Tennis Nets 4th in a Row

The Dallas Baptist Women's Tennis Team topped Schreiner University 7-2 on Friday morning at DBU Kiest Tennis courts. The Lady Patriots improve to 7-5 overall with a season-best, four-straight victories.
 
DBU took two out of three in the double rounds, led by #1 slotted duo, Amanda Richter and Cassandra Wennerstrom. They defeated SU's Leanna Haynes and Camila Anguiano by a total of 8-1.
 
Also capturing a win in an 8-1 set was seniors, Leah Rutt, and Leah Smith, in the #2 spot.
 
In the singles competition, the Lady Patriots won the first five match-ups to complete an easy victory. Rutt, slotted in the #1 match-up, notched a three-set triumph following a big 10-8 decision in the deciding round.
 
Wennerstrom continues her impressive undefeated streak, playing in the #2 seed for DBU. The freshman bested Alexandra Wheeler with a pair of 6-1 finishes to extend her personal winning-streak to six games.
 
In the #3 and #4 slots, Richter (6-1, 6-1) and Smith (6-1, 6-0) garnered winning efforts respectively. Junior, Lyvia Gomes, defeated Anguiano with a 7-5, 6-0 result to conclude the points for DBU.
 
Dallas Baptist travels to Abilene, Texas, tomorrow at 1 PM for a tournament versus McMurry University.
