The Dallas Baptist Women's Team won its second match in a row, topping Central Christian College 9-0. The Patriots are 12-8 on the spring campaign, while CCC moves to 0-8.
DBU swept the entire contest, opening with three victories in the doubles competition. Sophomore,
Amanda Richter and freshman,
Cassandra Wennerstrom, teamed up in the #1 slot to win 8-1. Also compiling 8-1 wins were senior duo,
Leah Rutt, and
Leah Smith, in the #2 spot, and junior
Lyvia Gomes, and sophomore,
Alexa Mentesana, in the #3 line.
Continuing their dominant day, the Patriots outscored Central Christian, 36-1 in the singles competition.
Rutt boasted 6-0 results in the #1 line to improve her streak to 10 wins in the past 12 single matches. Wennerstrom and Richter also posted 6-0 finals in the #2 and #3 slots, respectively.
Gomes defeated Em Barnett of CCC 6-0, 6-1.
Dallas Baptist is on the court Monday at Southeastern Oklahoma State University for a 3 PM.
