THE LEAD
The Dallas Baptist Volleyball Team bounced back after a two game slide in a major way defeating the St. Edward's Hilltoppers in a thrilling five sets, 3-2.The Lady Patriots had various match highs including four players with double digit kills. DBU's next match will take a break from Heartland Conference play as they face the Midwestern State Mustangs of the Lone Star Conference.   

BIG GAME BROOKE
Brooke Manley had a phenomenal outing against St. Edward's putting up 20 kills and 20 digs getting it done on both sides of the ball. The last Lady Patriot to have a 20+ kill and 20+ dig outing was Krystal Wunderlich against Texas A&M-Commerce in 2014. 

BIRD FLIES PAST 100 DIGS
Registering 27 digs versus SEU, Kaycie Bird eclipsed the 100 digs mark, now with 115 on the season. Lauren Nicks and Brooke Manley join BIrd with over 100 digs with 173 and 103, respectively.
 
SAME PLACES, DIFFERENT FACES
With matches against Newman, St. Edward's and now Midwestern State this will be the third straight match Dallas Baptist has faced a new head coach featured for the program. Midwestern State is now headed by former Newman head coach Natalie Rawson. 

THE LAST TIME OUT
In 2014, DBU lost a heart-breaker to MSU. After going up 2-0 in the match, the Lady Patriots allowed the Mustangs to rally back and win the following three sets to gain a 3-2 victory over Dallas Baptist. Carly Hess had 8 kills for the Lady Patriots with Austin Roberts registering a match high 49 assists and Hannah Ballew with 26 digs.

SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS
Midwestern State is currently in ninth place in the Lone Star Conference having yet to win a match in league play and have fallen in their last seven matches. MSU's last match was a loss at the hands of West Texas A&M in five sets. A bright spot for the Mustang's is junior defensive specialist Madelyn Johnson who is currently second in the Lone Star Conference in service aces. 

SERIES HISTORY
MSU currently holds a one game edge over DBU in the overall series record leading 11-10.
