DBU Falls in Three Sets to Texas Woman's

In their first loss of the season at the Burg Center, the Dallas Baptist Volleyball Team fell in three sets to the Texas Woman's Pioneers, 3-0.  

Despite the Pioneers starting off with a 6-1 lead, the Lady Patriots would stay close eventually tying the set 14-14. DBU would then go on a 4-2 run to increase their advantage 18-16. As the set progressed TWU would tie the score leading to both teams exchanging leads late into extra points. With the score tied 24-24, the Pioneers scored the final two points to win the first set 26-24 and take a 1-0 lead in the match.

Falling behind 3-0 in the second set, the Lady Patriots responded by scoring three straight points to tie the score 3-3. The two teams would exchange leads as action continued, with the score knotted at 8-8, The Pioneers scored 11 of the next 14 points to take a commanding 19-11 upper hand. From there TWU would remain in control winning the set 25-17, going up 2-0 in the match.

In the third set of the evening, DBU jumped out to a 3-1 lead over TWU, in which the Pioneers responded by putting together a 7-5 run to tie the set 8-8. The two squads would once again tie at 15-15, which resulted in TWU outscoring the Lady Patriots 10-4 in the final stretch of the game. TWU would seal the set 25-14, and the match 3-0.

WHAT'S NEXT 
The Lady Patriots will face the top team in the Heartland Conference, the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith Lions on Thursday, October 29 at the Burg Center. The match is set to begin at 7 pm.
