THE LEAD
The Dallas Baptist Women's Tennis Team would go 2-0 on their first day  in Midland, TX defeating both East Texas Baptist and Western New Mexico by a score of 5-0.

The first of the two match sweeps would begin against Western New Mexico with the Patriots winning Line 1 and Line 2 in doubles play with a score of 8-4 by Natalie Gennissen and Amanda Richter and Cassandra Wennerstrom and Liz Slaughter, respectively. The doubles sweep would be completed by Bianca Tijerina and Maria Fernandez de Camilo winning Line 3 by a score of 9-8.

In singles play versus WNMU the fourth and clinching point would be made by Slaughter and Tijerina  in Lines 5 and Line 6 winning 6-2,6-0 and 6-4,6-3, respectively.

Against ETBU the match would begin very similar in doubles with the Patriots' Line 1 and Line 2 duos taking a 2-0 lead, both with a score of 8-2. The duo of Meredith Robinson and Courtney McWilliams would seal Line 3 by a score of 8-4.

In Line 1 and Line 2 of singles competition, Wennerstrom and Slaughter would both dispatch their opponents quickly by scores of 6-1,6-0 and 6-0,6-1, respectively.
