Even though DBU would drop their first set of the afternoon in doubles play, falling behind 0-1, that would be the first and last time TAMUK would see the lead.
Dallas Baptist would get their first points of the afternoon with the duo of Cassandra Wennerstom and
Liz Slaughter sealing a Line 2 victory by a score of 8-3.
Maria Fernandez de Camilo and
Bianca Tijerina would follow suit for DBU winning 9-8 in Line 3, rounding out doubles action.
The streak for the Lady Patriots would continue in singles play with
Natalie Gennissen taking Line 1, 7-6, 7-6 and Wennerstrom winning Line 2, 6-3, 6-3.
With DBU up 4-1, Fernandez would extend the lead to 5-1 after battling back in a tiebreaker in Line 3. Slaughter and
Amanda Richter would also win their respective Lines, finishing the outburst by DBU closing their seven set run, before falling in Line 6.Â
