Amanda Richter would edge CU's Paula Gutierrez and Angie Torre, 9-7. The Lady Patriots No. 2 duo of
Cassandra Wennerstrom and
Liz Slaughter defeated CU's Samantha Wood and Dejana Veljic, 8-1 while DBU's No. 3 duo of
Maria Fernandez de Camilo and
Bianca Tijerina defeated Cameron's Eugenia Sanchez and Magdalena Kovinic, 7-4.
Up 3-0 going into singles action, the Lady Patriots would keep the momentum going, winning three of their six single match-ups to clinch the match.
DBU's Gennissen would follow up her Heartland Conference Player of the Week honor by defeating Cameron's Gutierrez by a score of 7-6, 7-6, (5,9) in Line 1. Dropping Lines 2 through 4, the Lady Patriots would prevail in Line 5 with Slaughter defeating Sanchez 6-3, 6-3.
In Line 6 of singles play Tijerina would hand CU's Veljic a 7-6 (8-6), 6-1 loss. Â Â Â
