THE LEAD
The Dallas Baptist Volleyball team had their three match win streak halted after falling to Heartland Conference foe, the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith in four sets, 4-1. Now in second place in the Heartland Conference, the  Lady Patriots look to improve their record as they continue on the road to face the Newman Jets in Wichita, KS

SERVICE ACE SIZZLE
This season sophomore Brooke Manley has been on fire scoring service aces. Manley currently leads the Heartland Conference with 18 service aces and averages 0.58 per set which ranks her #13 in the NCAA.

HIGH POINT HESS
Despite a loss to UAFS, sophomore Carly Hess is close to surpassing the 100 point mark for the season. Hess will go into this weekend's match with a team high 98 points. 

HIGH ATTACK PATRIOTS
Even though the Lady Patriots have less total attacks against their opponents this season, they have been very efficient in percentage. DBU is currently hitting .185 this year ranking them second in the Heartland Conference overall season stats

THE LAST TIME OUT
The last meeting between DBU and NU on October 11, 2014, resulted in a 3-0 sweep by the Lady Patriots. Kaycie Bird and Tadam Mergener had match highs during the match with 45 assists and 32 digs, respectively. Sidnee Jo Fitzpatrick chipped in 11 kills. 

SCOUTING THE LADY LIONS
NU is currently on a seven match winning streak with their most recent win coming against St. Edwards University in a 3-0 sweep. The Jets are under new leadership behind first year head coach Destiny Clark and return All-Heartland Conference selections middle hitter Ashley Gonzalez and setter Alexus Litts. Gonzalez currently leads the Heartland Conference in hitting percentage (.386%) and kills per set (4.30), while Litts leads the conference in assists (500) and assist per set (10.87).   
 
SERIES HISTORY
The Lady Patriots hold a 10-6 overall series lead over the Jets.
