THE LEAD 
The Dallas Baptist Women's Tennis Team improved their record to 2-1 on the year getting their first Heartland Conference victory, defeating the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, 7-2. 

The Lady Patriots claimed two of the three lines in doubles play with Ana Marija Banic and Maria Fernandez de Camilo taking line one 9-7 against UAFS' Abby Thompson and Brittaney McCasin and Amanda Richter and Liz Slaughter defeating UAFS' Lindsy Pearce and Taylor Price, 8-4. DBU fell in line three doubles with UAFS' Madison Carr and Annie Tarwater winning 8-3 over DBU's Bianca Tijerina and Madeline Coffman.

Despite falling in the first line of singles action with UAFS' McCasin defeating DBU's Marija Banic 6-4, 6-2, DBU went on to claim the other five lines of singles play.
In line two DBU's Slaughter defeated UAFS' Thompson 6-1, 6-2, line three saw UAFS' Pearce fall to DBU's Fernandez de Camilo 7-5, 7-5 and DBU's Coffman seal the fourth set over UAFS' Carr 6-4, 6-0. 

Lines five and six extended to three sets, but it would not matter with DBU's Richter taking line five 6-7 (5), 6-1, 6-2 over UAFS' Price and DBU's Tijerina claiming line six 6-2, 6-7 (5), 6-2  against UAFS' Tarwater.
