THE LEAD 
The DBU Women's Team dropped their third straight Heartland Conference match, after falling to the St. Mary's Rattlers, 7-2. 

Amanda Richter and Liz Slaughter came away victorious in doubles play, against nationally ranked competition. 

In doubles action, the Lady Patriots fell behind early dropping lines one and three. The duo of Richter and Slaughter put DBU on the board, defeating StMU's nationally ranked Cristina Lopez and Hannah Pertersen in line two. 

In singles play, Madeline Coffman was the lone win for the Lady Patriots,claiming line four in a 6-4, 7-6 victory.

Their fight, grit and determination combined with their solid doubles today landed them a good win that they should be proud of. I'm also especially proud of Maddy Coffman and her win at #4. While I am happy she got the win, I'm more proud of how she played. She showed a level of maturity and strength that we had not seen from her yet in her few months of being a Patriot. However, if she sustains it she will give every opponent in or region a run for their money. At #3, Rocio fought hard to split sets but wasn't able to show her best in the tiebreaker.
