THE LEAD
The Lady Patriots have won their fifth contest in a row on Saturday with a 6-3 victory over Heartland Conference opponent, Newman University. DBU took two of the three doubles matches before closing the day out by earning four of the six singles matches.
 
#1 duo, Ana Marija Banic and Lacey Sprinkel, stole a hard earned 8-6 battle in their doubles match-up. While the #3 combination of Bianca Tijerina and Skylar McDonald ran away with an 8-3 victory to give DBU their second doubles victory of the day.
 
#2 Lacey Sprinkel gave DBU some momentum after outlasting Newman's Tskhakaia 7-6(5) before taking the victory with a 6-2 set win. #5 Liz Slaughter also gave the Lady Patriots a huge with a 7-5 and 6-2 set win.

The Lady Patriots begin their spring break matches in Saint Leo, Florida against Saint Leo University on Monday at 3 PM. Then DBU will make their way to Orlando, Florida on Tuesday to face-off against Missouri Western State at 12 PM.
