LAST TIME OUT
The Lady Patriots finished up their time at the Tiger Invitational tournament last week going 1-2, but ending with a win. They were competitive in all three games and had positive moments throughout. This last week also marks the end of tournament play for DBU until the conference tournament at the end of the season. This should feel good for the Lady Patriots, as they won't have two games in one day anymore and can prepare for one opponent at a time.Â
PATRIOT STORYLINES
- This will be the first game of the year in the home state of Texas, but the Lady Patriots will have to wait for their first home game until Thursday.
- Brook Clarke and Alyssa Pevehouse are two freshmen on the squad that played a great tournament last week and will hope to keep that going into Tuesday's matchup.
- The Lady Patriots have consistently led their opponent in blocks per game. DBU will look to stand out defensively to help them get the win against Texas A&M-Commerce.
SCOUTING TEXAS A&M-COMMERCE
- The Lady Lions are on a two game losing streak, but went to five sets in both of those losses. They may be struggling right now, but they know how to keep things close.
- The Lady Lions went 19-13 last year with an impressive 10-2 record at home. This will be their first home game on the season, but according to last year, they play pretty well when at the Field House.
- This team also features a lot of depth, with three players having already reached at least 70 kills on the year. There's not one player to watch out for, but a few.
SERIES HISTORY
Texas A&M-Commerce currently holds an 8-5 series lead over DBU, but the Lady Patriots will look to make things closer. DBU saw the Lady Lions in the 2016 season where the Lady Patriots lost 0-3. This 2017 team looks more fresh and ready to go so far and they'll look to make up for that loss a year ago when they go up against the Lady Lions tomorrow.
