Women's Tennis Looks to Continue Winning Streak

THE LEAD
The DBU Women's Tennis team looks to build off its pair of 7-0 match wins over Hardin-Simmons and McMurry last weekend. The Lady Patriots dropped a match to Angelo State, but rebounded nicely to pick up a pair of wins.
DBU continues its spring season this weekend against the Falcons of UT-Permian Basin and the Ichabods of Washburn. The action will be DBU's second home action of the season and first since defeating Collin College February 1.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS

UT PERMIAN BASIN
The Lady Falcons enter the weekend with a 0-2 record overall and have dropped their last two matches 7-0 to UT Arlington and Harding University. Six of the nine members of the team are upperclassmen, followed by freshman Anastasia Obreque and sophomores Maria Briones and Jessica Madamba.

WASHBURN
The Ichabods are 3-0 on the season and most recently defeated Oklahoma Baptist on the road. Washburn started the dual on a strong note by sweeping the doubles competition. The duo of Alexis Czapinksi and Logan Morrisey notched their 10th win of the season for an overall record of 10-3. Jacqueline Engelbrect and Svea Crohn blanked their opponents with a 6-0 victory while the tandem of Kinsey Fields and Maria Soler Valverde won their match 6-3.

DBU will compete on the road in Tyler, Texas, against the University of Texas at Tyler, February 21st.
