THE LEAD
The DBU Women's Tennis team looks to extend their win streak to four matches as they take on Southwestern on the road in Winfield, Kansas.
Â
Last time out, The Lady Patriots continued their winning streak defeating Connecticut College 9-0. DBU won every singles match and swept doubles on their way to a perfect finish. With the win, the Lady Patriots move to 14-5 on the season.
Taylor Leslie swept both of her sets (6-0, 6-0) at line two, while
Kate Daugherty did much of the same at line four (6-0, 6-0). The doubles pairs outscored their opponents by a combined 24-10 on the day.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
SOUTHWESTERN
The Southwestern College women's tennis team was defeated by the Southeastern Fire on Friday, dropping the match by a score of 8-1 in their final contest in Florida.
Facing the Fire, who are also receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches poll, the Lady Builders faced arguably their toughest opponent during their trip down south. With their fourth match of the week, Southwestern was outmatched in almost all areas, picking up just one win in doubles to avoid the sweep altogether.
Southwestern is 3-3 on the season.
UP NEXT
The Lady Patriots will compete against Newman for their first Heartland Conference action at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 22.
