THE RUNDOWN
The Lady Patriot offense came alive against the tough front-line defense of Oklahoma Christian at The Burg Center on Wednesday night. Shaylee Shore contributed on both sides of the net with 13 kills on .571 hitting and eight blocks.

DBU (14-6, 7-2) jumped in front 10-5 to commence the match. An efficient offense sustained the advantage for the Lady Patriots as they increased the margin to nine, taking the frame 25-19. Karly Wells led the set with five kills, part of a .433 hitting effort from her squad.

It was another quick start for DBU in the second. Following a 9-2 start for the Lady Patriots, Oklahoma Christian (11-9, 3-4) began to close the gap, forcing a timeout with the score at 13-10. The Lady Patriots immediately responded, closing the frame on a 12-4 run to take it.

Eyeing a sweep, DBU went ahead 9-4 in the third, but OC tied the game at nine and kept the momentum to a 16-13 lead. The Lady Patriots won four of the next five rallies to even the tallies at 17, but the Eagles fought back to swipe set three.

DBU flew out of the gates in the fourth and never looked back. Bolstered by a combined 12 kills from Delaney Fuller and Shaylee Shore, the Lady Patriots compiled a .636 hitting percentage in the set. Meanwhile, their defense held OC to a -.115 clip en route to a 25-7 score to seal the win.
