The DBU Women's Tennis team saw their six-game win streak come to an end on Friday in a 7-2 loss to Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, but responded with a pair of wins over Schreiner and Howard Payne on Saturday in Kerrville. The Lady Patriots now sit at 8-1 through their first nine matches of the spring season.
In Friday's defeat versus Trinity,
Isabella Arana Rios and
Sofia Teran picked up DBU's lone two points in singles with Arana Rios capturing a win at the line 5 position in straight sets, while Teran also won in straight sets at the line 6 spot.
On Saturday, the Lady Patriots shutout Schreiner, 9-0.
Caroline Hudson picked up a win at the line 1 singles position after winning, 6-2, 6-2, over Schreiner's Hannah Reyna.
Isabella Arana Rios also kept her winning streak intact, winning her seventh straight singles match with a win in straight sets at the line 3 spot. In doubles,
Angela Charles-Alfred and
Jenna Payne led the way with an 8-1 victory in line 1 doubles.
DBU closed our their weekend with a 5-0 victory over Howard Payne. Charles-Alfred and
Sarah Castleberry notched wins in line 1 doubles, while
Elise Carbo and
Madison Stafford picked up the win in doubles and the line 2 spot.

"We still have some things to work on in the doubles area, but one things for sure is that we're very deep and we have a lot of flexibility this year that's going to serve us well moving forward. I'm excited to see what we can do this year.
