THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Women's Tennis team split a pair of matches over the weekend, winning 5-2 over Southeastern Oklahoma State in Durant, Oklahoma, on Thursday, before falling 6-1 to No. 8 Central Oklahoma at the Arlington Tennis Center on Saturday. The split gives the Lady Patriots a 9-2 record heading into Lone Star Conference action this week.

In Friday's win over Southeastern Oklahoma State, Angela Charles-Alfred edged out a victory in line 1 singles, knocking off Vanessa Nitu in three sets.  Leonie Schondelmaier picked up a win in straight sets in line 3 singles, while Isabella Arana Rios and Sofia Teran each notched victories at the line 5 and 6 spots respectively. In doubles action, the teams of Caroline Hudson / Madison Stafford (line 2) and Isabella Arana Rios / Sofia Teran (line 3) each won in 6-1 fashion.

On Saturday, the Lady Patriots dropped a 6-1 decision to the nation's 8th-ranked team in Central Oklahoma. Leonie Schondelmaier registered DBU's lone point with a victory in three sets over UCO's Nefeli Zafeiri in line 3 singles.

DBU HEAD COACH WADE MORGAN ON A TOUCH LOSS TO #8 UCO
"We had many chances against UCO. We'll get there, but one thing for sure is that we're very deep and we have a lot of flexibility this year. That's going to serve us well moving forward."
