The DBU Women's Tennis team opened Lone Star Conference play with a pair of wins over UTPB and Western New Mexico over the weekend at the Arlington Tennis Center. On Friday, DBU (11-2, 2-0) won convincingly, 6-1, over UTPB (3-9, 1-3) before edging out a 4-3 win over Western New Mexico on Saturday.
In the LSC opener versus the Falcons, the Lady Patriots swept all three doubles matches. In singles play, DBU claimed victory in five of six singles contests as
Angela Charles-Alfred (line 1),
Leonie Schondelmaier (line 3),
Jenna Payne (line 4), Isabela Arana Rios (line 5), and
Sofia Teran (line 6) each won their matches.
On Saturday versus Western New Mexico, DBU once again earned the point in doubles after sweeping all three matches. In singles, the Lady Patriots and WNMU split the six matches with Schondelmaier (line 1), Arana Rios (line 5), and Teran (line 6) all winning their matches.

UP NEXT
DBU travels to Florida next weekend to compete in three matches against Saint Thomas Aquinas, Slippery Rock, and Eckerd College.
