The DBU Women's Tennis team went 1-2 over the week with a 4-0 win over UAFS and a pair of 5-2 losses to UT Tyler and No. 18 Cameron. With the 1-2 mark, the Lady Patriots now sit at 15-6 overall and 3-3 in Lone Star Conference play.
In Tuesday's loss at UT Tyler, DBU picked up one of their two points after claiming two doubles matches. At the line 1 position,
Angela Charles-Alfred and
Jenna Payne defeated UTT's Allison Schwartz and Akshaya Suresh, 6-3, while
Isabella Arana Rios and
Sofia Teran teamed up to win, 7-6, and claim the tie-breaker point at the line 3 spot. Teran also picked up the Lady Patriots' lone point in singles with a win in three sets at the line 6 position.
On Friday in Fort Smith, Arkansas, the Lady Patriots won all three doubles matches to seize a point. In singles play, Charles-Alfred and
Caroline Hudson notched wins in straight sets at the line 1 and line 4 spots respectively.
Facing 18th-ranked Cameron in Lawton, Oklahoma, on Saturday, DBU suffered a 5-2 defeat. Payne and Charles-Alfred defeated Cameron's Vasilisa Polunova and Anastasia Uspenskaia, 6-2. The Lady Patriots would drop the other two doubles contest and eventually lost the point to Cameron. In single play, DBU picked up their lone two points as
Leonie Schondelmaier (line 3) and
Sofia Teran (line 6) each won their matches.

"We played better doubles this week. Both teams pushed us in ways we had not been pushed yet this season. We are going to keep working on the little things as we gear up for our last four conference matches."

DBU hosts their final two home contests of the year when the Lady Patriots face Lubbock Christian on Friday, followed by a Saturday match against Midwestern State.
