Lady Patriots Sweep the Field at Pueblo Duals

THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Women's Tennis team swept the competition at the Pueblo Duals in Colorado this weekend. The team went 6-1 against CSU-Pueblo and 4-0 against MSU Denver before clinching a 7-0 sweep against Colorado College.  

The Lady Patriots had a powerful weekend; apart from the rain, all the girls collected wins, which helped propel the team to 3-0 to start before the spring season.

The courts saw standout performances from doubles pairs Payne/Smelley (3-0), Teran/ Arana-Rios (2-0), and Hudson/Buchanan (2-0), who all went undefeated. While Hudson, Teran, Payne, Arana Rios, and Stewart went undefeated in singles play.

"Any time you can pick up on wins on the road, it's nice. The girls adjusted to the altitude well and came out very strong in every match in doubles. I am excited to see what we do in our regional tournament next week and what we can do in the spring."

The Lady Patriots will be in Arlington, Texas, to compete in the ITA South Central Regional Championships from September 21-23.
