THE RUNDOWNÂ
The DBU Men's Soccer team lost 3-2Â in a close game against UT Tyler at Perkins Soccer Complex on Saturday night. The teams were tied going into the final 20 minutes when a penalty kick by UTT found the back of the net, proving to be the difference as DBU was unable to answer. Â
DBU relied heavily on their defense in the first half as UTT fought to stay in their attack. Ten shots were made by the UTT offense during before the half, compared to DBU's three. DBU scored first in the 17th minute after Peyton Voelker's cross found Ethan Unger in the box. Unger's shot made it past UTT goalkeeper Diego Berlingeri putting DBU up 1-0. Twenty-eight minutes later, UTT earned their first point off of Thato Meko's shot. The half ended 1-1. Â
The last 45 minutes proved to be more physical as each team's defenses stepped up. Only seven shots were made in the second half with the first coming in the 53rd minute by UTT's Johnathan Sosa. DBU's Peyton Voelker answered with another goal in the 56th minute to tie the score again 2-2. Tension rose in the final 34 minutes as both teams fought for possession. A yellow card was administered to DBU's goalkeeper Patrick Banich after he made contact with a UTT player in the box, resulting in a penalty kick opportunity for UTT in the 71st minute which proved to be the final goal of the game. Â
Despite DBU's efforts, they were unable to make the equalizing goal before the clock ran out, resulting in a 3-2 loss. Â

HEAD COACH JESS JOBE'S COMMENT ON THE GAME
"I would say first that I want to point to a lot of positives once again from the game overall that we want to continue to do, continue to draw from, and continue to take momentum into the next game. But, once again it's a game that those positives aren't outweighing, [there are] some things that we need to continue to solve, and there are some areas that we expect for us to be to be better in terms of execution and [in] handling a little bit of adversity of what the opponent is throwing at us. We've got to take a deep dive into what needs to be addressed and the areas for us to continue to get better at. We are eager to go again and take our opportunities, every opportunity, that we have right now before we enter into conference play to continue to learn and grow together as a group. There's some areas that we need to improve in and we've got to be honest with ourselves, and we've got to figure out how to pick ourselves back up and get better in those things, so that's what we'll do. I still believe 100% in this group and I think that everything we've set out to do in this season is still ahead of us, and that is the good news. So, we'll keep driving, we'll keep working, and I believe this group's gonna continue to do that, so onto the next one." - Jess Jobe
