Saturday afternoon the No. 25 ranked DBU Lady Patriots defeated UT Permian Basin in four sets, taking sets one, three, and four (25-13, 21-25, 25-15, 25-23). DBU received large contributions from middles Shaylee Shore and Lindsey Otero this afternoon, as they both played a stellar two-way game to lead the Lady Patriots to their 10th conference win.Â
In the first set, the DBU defense held UTPB to a minuscule four kills and a .000 Hit%. The Lady Patriot attack turned defense into offense in the first set and dominated to the tune of a .448 Hit% in the first frame. Karly Wells led everyone on the floor with 17 kills, followed closely by Delaney Fuller's total of 15. Nobody else on either side had more than eight kills.
Lindsey Otero posted a floor-leading seven total blocks, assisting on every single block that was credited to DBU. Her middle counterpart Shaylee Shore posted a floor leading .583 Hit%. Daylee Doggett led everyone with 14 digs, in a game where nobody else had more than nine. Setter Aryn Walton dished out 37 assists to seven different recipients.Â
DBU improves their conference record to 10-2, as the Lady Pats look to continue climbing the Lone Star Conference rankings ahead of the LSC tournament that will take place in a few weeks.
