No. 23 DBU Sweeps Cameron to Kickstart Lone Star Conference Play

THE RUNDOWN

The Lady Patriots (7-4, 1-0) dominate the Cameron Aggies (0-11, 0-1) Friday evening to open Lone Star Conference play in the 2024 campaign (25-15, 25-16, 25-7). DBU looked as dominant as ever tonight, putting on a masterclass for the home crowd to enjoy. The Lady Patriots out-killed the Aggies 45-20 tonight, providing fireworks from start to finish at The Burg Center.

Karly Wells and Delaney Fuller led the team with 11 kills each, followed closely by Shaylee Shore's nine. The Lady Patriots began utilizing Shore increasingly more in the Colorado Premier Challenge, and the volume has been maintained since then. Shore notched three blocks and tied Jenna McMichael for the team lead in aces this evening with three.

In what was DBU's most efficient game of the year (.419 Hit%), the offense also set a season high of eight different Lady Patriots notching at least one kill. Among this group was Reagan Fifer, tallying her first of the campaign. Aryn Walton had 27 of DBU's 31 assists, while also recording 12 digs. Libero Daylee Doggett would lead the way in the dig department with 13 of her own.

The Lady Patriots will continue Lone Star Conference play Saturday afternoon at The Burg Center against Oklahoma Christian (8-4, 0-1).

 

THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

Lindsey Otero had a perfect Hit% tonight, notching seven kills on seven attempts. 

Shaylee Shore led the way with 14.5 points this evening.

DBU has not lost to Cameron since 2006.
