THE RUNDOWN
Friday afternoon, DBU (4-2, 0-0 LSC) defeated Colorado Christian (3-2, 0-0 RMAC) in four sets. The Patriots improved to 2-0 in games following a loss.
Reagan Fifer led the group with 14 kills and four block assists. Both offenses struggled to establish consistency, with neither team posting a hitting percentage higher than .125. DBU got a mighty contribution from its back row in the serving department, accumulating seven aces and just four errors from the baseline.

The Patriots took a 5-4 lead in the first set and wouldn't relinquish their advantage for the remainder of the opening frame. Fifer recorded five kills in a first set that was dominated by DBU, particularly on defense. The Cougars were held to a measly .027 hitting percentage in set one, posting ten kills and nine errors on 37 swings.

However, Colorado Christian's offense would show a blip of dominance throughout set two, running away with a 25-20 win on the back of a .321 hitting percentage, but their success wouldn't last for long.

The Patriots held the Cougars to just eight kills and forced them to make eight errors in the third set, good for an even 0.0 hitting percentage, the lowest mark from a DBU opponent thus far into the season. The Patriots ended set three with a 5-0 run, featuring two kills from
Karly Wells and one from
Avery Keck.

Similar to the first set, DBU would control the scoreboard in the fourth frame, not giving up their lead after going up 3-2. Keck and Fifer put down five kills each in the fourth and final set to help the Patriots tie a bow on their fourth win of the season.
