After an opening round victory over Newman University in the Heartland Conference Tennis Tournament, the Lady Patriot Tennis Team dropped their semi-final matchup against the University of the Incarnate Word.
The Lady Patriots nearly swept the Jets from Newman, only dropping one doubles set in the match. Junior

Megan Billings each cruised to easy wins in their singles matches. Atkins and Sophomore
Lexi Yeado swept their opponents, 8-0, at the number three doubles position, as DBU sealed the easy victory.
With their opening round win, the Lady Patriots advanced to the semi-finals, where they faced the number one seeded Cardinals from Incarnate Word. Yeado and Atkins won their second consecutive doubles match of the day, 8-5, and Senior
Jeanelle Stines and Junior
Lisa Olian picked up an 8-5 victory at the number two position, giving DBU an early 2-1 lead.
Incarnate Word dominated in singles action as they won eight consecutive sets, sweeping the remaining matches against the Lady Patriots.
DBU will conclude their season at the NCCAA National Tournament in Mobile, Alabama on May 19. The Lady Patriots are the defending NCCAA Nationals Champions, having won the tournament in 2009.
