In the second of their final three home matches, the Lady Patriots will face the top team in the Heartland Conference, the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith Lions. Â
NICKS NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEKÂ Lauren Nicks was named Heartland Conference Player of the Week for her play during the week of October 19 - October 24 against Texas A&M International, Angelo State, and St. Mary's University. This is the second time this season Nicks has been given the honor.

HISTORIC HOME STARTDBU's recently snapped six match home winning streak was the longest home win streak to start the season and tied the second longest home winning streak in DBU Volleyball history spanning over a decade. 2005 was the last time the Lady Patriots won six straight  home matches.Â
THE LAST TIME OUTÂ UAFS handed DBU their first Heartland Conference loss this season falling in four sets, 3-1.
Carly Hess turned in 11 kills, while
Kaycie Bird registered 15 assists and
Lauren Nicks had 20 digs.Â
SCOUTING THE LIONSThe Lions sit at the top the Heartland Conference with an undefeated record in league play and winners of their last sixteen matches. Despite not being ranked in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Rankings, UAFS has received numerous votes in the poll and are second in the nation in digs per set with 19.74. The Lions have also stood out defensively this year holding their Heartland Conference opponents to seasons lows in hitting percentage, assists, kills, and blocks.Â
SERIES HISTORYSince their first meeting in 2009, the Lady Patriots have defeated the Lions only twice in 13 meetings. Â
