THE LEAD
The Lady Patriots are traveling across the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex to face a very hungry TWU team. Both teams are coming off disappointing loses to Texas A&M – Kingsville. With a short roster due to injuries, DBU has to rely on some of their young talent for considerable contributions. The Lady Patriots turn to freshman standouts Kasey Holland and
Strealy Sizelove who recently crossed the 400 assists mark.
TIME TO SHINE
With a limited roster, DBU has provided an opportunity for girls to step up and rise to the challenge. Amongst those ready for the added responsibility are junior right side hitter
Thelma Flores and sophomore setter
Hannah Hester. Flores is fourth on the team in blocks with 13 recorded as she looks to add to that tally with more dependability. While Hester is second on the team in assists as she is looking to fill the void left by the injured senior, Holly Beniot.
EXCITING THINGS AHEAD
The Lady Patriots boast a plethora of young talent on their roster. With the injuries sustained, this as put that young talent in the spotlight. This has put them in position to grow and provide valuable playing time quickly for DBU. For the most part, the young Lady Patriots have answered well as they continue to improve. To their benefit, they have strong leaders in
Hannah Ballew,
Sidnee Jo Fitzpatrick and
Carly Hess to learn from.
SCOUTING TEXAS WOMAN'S
TWU is seeking a bounce back victory as they are currently suffering a seven game losing streak. Like DBU, Texas Woman's has a roster vastly full of young talent including nine freshmen. Historically, TWU holds the edge over the Lady Patriots with an 11-8 all-time record.
LAST TIME OUT
Texas Woman's bested DBU last time out in October 2015. TWU won the match in three sets.
